Review of The Ward (2010) by Jasminka G — 08 Jan 2012
After a decade away John Carpenter returns to form in full length form. I enjoyed his Masters of Hereof entries and this one is close behind Cigarette Burns. The movie is very atmospheric and there are a few good jump scares.
What sold me is the end. I'm not going to give it away but almost every review I've seen has missed the point so badly I'm wondering what movie people are watching. Lets just say if you think back through the film it all makes clear sense.
The acting is good and Carpenter is at his stylistic best which means he keeps the movie moving and doesn't let up in the tension. Welcome back.
