Review of The War Zone (1999) by Katie M — 19 Aug 2007
After seeing 2500 girls, Lara Belmont (the daughter) was found on the street by Tim Roth and asked "would like to read for a film"? Having never acted, she read a few lines and replied "I think I can do this".
Yes it deals with a very sensitive issue, but this film is a directional masterpiece. Lara Belmont as a debut is incredible, Ray Winstone, as always, is outstanding and Tim Routh proves he is a genius both in front and behind a camera.
Could be awkward in the wrong company so best watched alone.
