Review of The War Zone (1999) by Vanessa F — 13 Oct 2007
A startling debut from Tim Roth, here as director, and featuring a career best performance from Ray Winstone, this bleak and beautiful film dealing with the most unsettling of subjects(incest)is almost impossible to watch at times, and heartbreaking in it's portrayal of a seemingly normal family falling apart, it is mature, brilliant film making, with a stunning debut performance from Lara Belmont as th abused girl.
