Review of The War Tapes (2006) by Laura S — 13 Nov 2007
An embedded journalist's wet dream. This film would do the likes of Christie Blatchford proud. Don't be fooled by conventions of vérité -- this film is heavily edited and shows a very narrow range of opinions.
The footage might look unfamiliar, but the ideas are not. Take it for what it is -- three gripping video journals sewed together in a way that reproduces a narrow view of war.
