I didn't expect this film to be a series of set pieces... I thought it would have more story. That said, it is very good doing what it does. Those 1953 effects look pretty good today... in spite of the frequency of the digital work we are used to now.
Economical running time.
You could find a better sci-fi film... but it stands above a number of ho-hum sci-fi flicks.
