Review of The War of the Worlds (1953) by Corey H — 21 Aug 2010
This was a pretty good movie. I liked the scenes where the army was fighting the alien ships, even though their weapons did nothing. I also found it kind of funny that the aliens were killed by germs so easily, and that's what led to their eventual downfall.
The effects were great for their time, and they still look cool today. This was a good version of H. G. Wells' book, even though were a lot of differences. There were a lot of changes, even though I don't remember the book that well.
But I do remember how there were tripods in the book, but not in the movie. That seemed like the biggest difference to me. But even wit that change, The War of the Worlds is still a very decent film.
