Review of The War of the Roses (1989) by James S — 02 May 2008
Dark but more realistic than you would probably realise. Anyone who's ever found themselves in a dysfunctional relationship will be able to see something of themselves here.....if taken to the extreme.
The cast are all good and anyone expecting the third installment in the Romancing/Jewel trilogy must have been in for a shock.
Watching it today you can only see Douglas as a sex maniac and Turner as Chandlers dad but that doesn't detract too much from what is an amiable black comedy about just being sick of the sight of someone.
