Review of The Wall (2017) by Patrick L — 13 Nov 2017
I love war and combat depictions, but there is just no working the material or story. It's a boring idea that didn't find a way to draw my attention. Immediately I noticed that it needs more of at least one of two things, far more action or far more backstory.
I just didn't have any interest because there is no weight to the situation. My only interest was in the enemy sniper, but there was no hope of getting any backstory or weight there either. I applaud the effort, but the sloppy way that the combat was handled plus my lack of interest murders my rating.
I can literally summarize the movie in one sentence. "A lone sniper team gets sloppy when they encounter an unknown top notch enemy sniper." Without spoiling the ending, that felt like the entire 81 minutes.
