Review of The Walk (2015) by Nico B — 06 Oct 2015
From a narrative standpoint the film does precious little to improve on the 2010 film Man on Wire which was brilliant and won the Oscar for best documentary, but from a cinematic standpoint, man does this film deliver.
Watching this in IMAX 3D I nearly fainted. Zemeckis puts the audience 110 floors above the New York skyline for 25 terrifying, nausea inducing minutes before putting our feet back on solid ground. I may never forgive him, but I will certainly never forget.
This movie is a must see in large format cinemas and also stands as a moving tribute to the towers that Philippe Petit help bring to life.
