Review of The Walk (2015) by Alan W — 07 Oct 2015
In spite of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's damned-if-you-do-and-damned-if-you-don't French accent, he is talented enough and his performance charming enough to make it watchable and not too laughable but the film suffers from feeling like an awkwardly compromised Hollywood remake of an European indie with the aid of Google translator, with a tacked on big budget, tech-heavy (and visually, equal parts effective and terrifying, given my discomfort with heights) tower heist of an ending that may justify the extra price for IMAX 3D but not the film itself.
.. except for people extremely averse to documentaries - because for everyone else, there already was Man on Wire.
