Review of The Walk (2015) by Greg B — 11 Oct 2015
"The Walk" is a compelling, fascinating look at a tightrope walker's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) dream to make a name for himself in an unpopular line of work. Funambulists risk death for the entertainment of others, but Levitt does it because it brings meaning and purpose to his life.
It is inspiring to see what a passion he has for his art and how it infuses him with meaning. Levitt aspires to walk the void between the two towers of the World Trade Center with the help of his band of accomplices called the Coup.
This is a fascinating look at one mans spiritual journey for fulfillment. We may not all agree with his lifestyle choice but he shows us how powerful it is to him and delivers his performance with conviction.
An excellent film ----------------------------------------------------------- B+.
