Review of The Walk (2015) by John K — 10 Jan 2016
Like Titanic, The Walk is a real life (albeit a bit more dramatized) retelling of a true story with a climatic set-piece as the main attraction. Unlike Titanic, The Walk does not have a gripping story leading up to the main attraction.
However, to be fair The Walk is more of a heist film but still, it doesn't amount to much. The last 40 minutes are nothing short of a cinematic masterclass by Zemeckis, obstacles after obstacles, action beat after beat culminating with a grandstanding technological triumph of a sequence that has to be seen in IMAX.
More of an experience than a film.
