Review of The Walk (2015) by Joel M — 13 May 2016
**** Good.
I am going to walk you through my high punwire review act of "The Walk". The movie is wired up by infamous Writer-Director Robert Zemeckis. "The Walk" stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as real-life French high-wire artist Phillippe Petit who in 1974 realized his dream by highwiring a walk from one tower to another tower of The Twin Towers. Of course, this wasn't legal, so Petit recruited a group of accomplices both in France and New York to help "talk the talk" so he can "walk the walk". Zemeckis' does a credible job in both directing and co- writing the picture, especially in his technical directorial mastery of the actual walk. Mr. Z did get a bit strung up with the planning of the highwire act, but shined in exhibiting Petit's never-let-die passion in pursuing his dream. Gordon-Levitt rose big as Petit, and his French accent was as perfect I have ever heard from an American actor. The always great Ben Kingsley also kept the thespian balance right with his work as Petit's highwire mentor & teacher Papa Rudy. The rest of the cast was also quite steady. But this was Gordon-Levitt's sky- scraping acting show. So therefore, walk your way to "The Walk".
