Review of The Wages of Fear (1953) by Nikolai E — 07 Sep 2007
There's a lot of good stuff in this movie, but the intro really could have used a trim. It's well-told and interesting, but doesn't ultimately have much bearing on the rest of the film. Clouzot's ending is typically unsatisfying and contrivedly tragic.
But the meat of the film is masterful.
