Review of The Wages of Fear (1953) by Asta S — 22 Jul 2010
Good films take things that aren't so scary in common experience, but make them absolutely suspenseful and terrifying in their circumstance. This movie pulls that off in spades. Even early parts of the movie before the trucking gets underway offer a foreboding air of no guarantees.
But once the trucks turn over, every moment in the film is a gripping part of the narrative.
