Review of The Wackness (2008) by Dennis L — 30 Apr 2009
Josh Peck really destroyed his funny boy image and brought out the actor in him. Kingsley proves once again he has deserved all the fame he has gotten. A very touching and apparently true story of a kid who has just graduated from high- school and is a full time pot-dealer. the character development is just right and the audience actually starts to feel for the character, as he is very likable. This movie reminded me of 8 mile for some reason, the characters are somewhat similar, and deal with the same time period. The music played a huge role in the plot and understanding of the characters. even mary-olsen is good in this film, she plays herself in the movie (you'll know what I mean once you see it).
Overall this film is a directorial genius, and one of the best, if not the best coming of age story ever. Well Done!
