Review of The Wackness (2008) by Lorin T — 15 Nov 2009
I thought this would be a good dynamic movie since it was claiming to have Ben Kingsly and Famke Jannsen as stars. I was dissappointed in this film. It definitely did capture the feeling of the 90's era and a boys encounter with his first sexual experiences.
The addition of Kingsly and Famke's roles would have been nice however their parts were severly underdeveloped for the importance of Kingsly's role and time spent in the movie. Shapiros character was not believable and hard to watch, in fact I did not finish the movie.
The only upside to the movie was the soundtrack and spirit of the 90's, otherwise it was a waste of time especially with such potential considering the cast and premise of the movie.
