Review of The Wackness (2008) by Jordan J — 09 Jan 2012
The wackness is a good coming-of-age film set in NYC during hip-hop's "golden era". luke is a recent high school graduate trying to live out his days to the fullest before he leaves for college.
luke's looking to fall in love, figure out life and listen to hip-hop - all the while selling dope out of an ice cream cart that he pushes up and down the city. his search crosses paths with a washed-up psychologist who desperately wants to relive his youth.
an interesting cross-examination of two people trying to live different lives vicariously through each other as the two men realize that their growing friendship is as important as anything life has to offer.
