Review of The Wackness (2008) by Bobby — 08 Feb 2009
Ben Kinglsley is a Psychiatrist who forms a relationship with his teenage pot dealer. They trade therapy sessions for pot. Once they form a bond, they start a quest together that he always wish he'd had in his glory days.
His daughter is also a crush of the dealer in question. This movie is set in the Glorious nineties and future star Josh Peck is good as a shy, withdrawn high school graduate. His parents are invisible to him except for the arguing over bills.
His friends only like him because he sells the Chronic and his love interest is just bored with her life. A coming of age dramedy with a lot of heart. Ben Kingsly's performance is righteous and I felt like listening to Nirvana as I was watching.
A no brainer, watch this and relive the grungy, starbucks onslaughted, white boys wanna be rappers decade. Oh, and the Clintons. And they give Biggie Smalls BIGGIE props as well. RIP Notorious B.I.G. and.
..Thumbs up dudes.
