Review of The Vow (2012) by Melinda V — 30 Nov 2012
The story feels a lot like Dear John or other Nicholas Sparks novels, despite it being based on a true story. The plotting would pass for a short film rather than a two-hour dramafest. It's kinda predictable most of the way into the film.
I would rather read it if it was a/from a book, my focus would be more on the details since it would be a simple story, but since its a film the details won't help; you really can't escape the fact of its dullness.
The heart-warming scenes are one of the few things that keeps me intruiged, and the mentioned fact it really did happened. Overall, if you want another relatable and partly-tragic (since this time none of the couple died) romance flick to go over, this would be perfect since its not too thick of a sypnosis for anyone too dense to understand.
