Review of The Void (2001) by Elin T — 14 Jun 2008
A decent movie that did not fall victim to the overpowering Special Effects of hollywood.
What was good about this movie is that this disaster wasn't treated like the end of the world... while it very well could have been.
There are no hysterics here, just calculated action.
Amanda Tapping baisicly is sam carter in this movie, just more in touch with her emotional side (you know, like every other human being).
Although while the movie was decent, steven, half way through, started acting like a whining 2 year old, which started to grate, but luckily he got over it and started acting his age again.
One thing this movie didn't achieve was putting the audience in their place.
This sort of disaster is not totally out of our grasp, and it would only take one mad scientist with a lot of money to make it happen, which is quite scary. This movie did not make you feel that.
