Review of The Voices (2014) by Azeem H — 02 Aug 2015
The Voices is a brilliantly handled black comedy, it's full of laughs of the dark kind, the acting is superlative especially from Ryan Reynolds. While Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick also provide solid support. Reynolds is a bit of an enigma if a film sucks, then the critics will round on Reynolds like they did with abomination that was R.I.P.D and X-Men Origins Wolverine.
However give Reynolds an ability to show his acting chops then you see his talent shine, as it did in Buried and he does here. The Movie Info does well to describe what the movie is about so I won't go into it.
What you need to know is that is funny, it's dark and the twist is brilliantly revealed, there are some moments where you feel it's to independent for it's own good but they don't spoil what is sure to become a cult classic.
