I can't say I have forgiven Shyamalan but I can say this movie started the healing process. The Visit has good casting, a nice plot twist and fine acting. I'm not sure about his directing though. Unnecessary scare-jumps and scenes seem to be pathetic fillings to make the movie over 90 minutes.
Also, I think there were many redundant attempts to make audience laugh but there were enough laughter for me to say it is a horror/comedy movie. But if you think found-footage gimmick is old news this movie is only 5/10 for you.
