Review of The Visit (2015) by Liam M — 22 Feb 2016
The first time Shyamalan has freaked me out in over a decade. The Visit is still pretty clunky, it's far from innovative and has a real sense of been here, done that to it. It's genuinely intense though, smart, with more than a few things to say with the way we treat our elderly.
It compromises it's smarts for its schlocky but spooky twist; turning it into more cliche than clever, still 'The Visit' is a creepy home movie, and a welcome return from the once great director.
