There's no denying M Night Shyamalan knows how to engineer a jump scare, and The Visit is full of them. Unfortunately he's also crammed his movie with found footage, bad acting and another 'twist' that anyone with half a brain can second guess easily.
It does its job but there's nothing beyond the fairground ride - and he's proved in the past he can do so much more.
