Review of The Visit (2015) by Junel K — 24 Jun 2017
The Visit is Shyamalan's redemption that was certainly well needed. I was really surprised by how much I liked this film because it felt really fresh to have this shot in the kids perspective of the documentary that they're shooting for this Visit.
Especially considering that I similarly would do what they did in this film. This film can get really twisted and super creepy but that's what makes it so compelling to watch. As it may leave you completely shocked, that's what makes this film unique and I appreciate how Shyamalan directed this film.
I thought the two kids did a great job with their performances but I did feel like there was some unanswered questions and a lack of fluidity within the story that is being told. All in all I enjoyed this movie as a horror and psychological thriller.
The way that it was presented made me enjoy it more than I should have.
