Review of The Virginity Hit (2010) by Tyler Y — 25 Sep 2010
So generally the same plot as the original American Pie with four friends making a pact together but a decade later and for a younger generation. The one thing it does really well is represent the Youtube/Facebook generation in which every aspect of life is chronicled online and anyone with a camera can make their own sequel to Jackass.
There are no known actors in the movie, it was shot with a hand-helled camera, and although scripted it masquerades as a documentary in the same style as The Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity.
All together it does a better job than most at appearing authentic as if the characters are actually friends in real life with an expensive camera and too much time on their hands. It tries to get at the same idea that Easy A and The Social Network are attempting to reach and does a pretty good job in its attempt.
