Though purporting to be a comedy about one poor individual's efforts to lose his virginity, and there are indeed moments of hilarity here, this really is an unintended documentary about the invasiveness of the videocam in everyday life, and how we learn to accept it and even yearn for it.
there was a time, recent history to some, where movies were the primary entertainment venue, stealing the thunder of previous kings like theater and vaudeville. nobody expected television (just like the theater and vaudeville didn't expect the movies).
