Review of The Virgin Suicides (2000) by Naaz D — 05 Jul 2009
Not quite as good as the book but still one of the best teenage dramas I have ever seen. Told from the eyes of infatuated almost obsessive boys who even grow up to carry a torch for the Lisbon sisters because they could never unravel their mystery during their swift adolescence.
The movie offers no solid reason for the suicides starting from Cecilia and everything is left to personal interpretation but we get so many clues to why the girls take such drastic steps. I strongly suggest reading the book first and then follow up with the movie.
Coppola does a very good job !!
