Review of The Virgin Suicides (2000) by Carlos A — 20 Jul 2009
The virgin suicides get us on a story set on the ultra conservative side of the American society of the 70's and sucessfully delivers an athmosphere filled with sorrow, loneliness and longling hopes where a group of boys try to discover the misteries surrounding their neighbour teenage girls...
I't's until the very end with the open knots and with no explanation given, that we understand that the story speaks of the infiniteness beauty of the woman mind (with all the range of emotions not easy to externalize) , seen from the Guy's point of view... so we end up as puzzled as the protagonists (this is where the movie, ultimately succeedes).
Very good movie but It's not for everyone's taste as it's quite tricky to watch (one of those moves where you understand what you just saw until the very end).
.. go and see it with a pair of Starbuck coffees and some chocolate pie...
