Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Helena K — 29 Jan 2011
The pictures are great - as always by Sven Nykvist. And scenography, medieval decorations, acting (very theater, but it's tipical for Bergman's and I like it). Intense, powerful, significant ugliness.
Good and evel, corruption and innocence, enlightenment and ignorance, spirituality and animal (human) instincts. Parental love moved to a crime, even the deepest faith I god won't stop the father.
Where thefaith gone? What should he do? Where was the mistake??? Where was the error?
