This movie got panned by a lot of people disappointed with the "shocking twist." Whatever. I like movies that take the time to create mood and atmosphere and "The Village" is one of the best examples of that.
An interesting philosophy is interwoven into the story as well: isolation from the world doesn't keep evil away.
