Review of The Village (2004) by Risya H — 08 Oct 2011
The film "looks" great and manages to produce some effective atmospheric dark nuance. The tone and mood were staged nicely to gives the isolation feels of the village. I also like how colours appear in the movie.
The casts were proper, especially Bryce Dallas Howard who left a lasting impression with her role in this movie. The movie has great premise and the twists that a few could imagine, although many people found it quite a let-down, but not for me.
However, without the twist, there really not much substance of value here. Can only be viewed once, really.
