Review of The Village (2004) by Dr. F P — 12 Feb 2013

The Village tried so hard to succeed as a psychological thriller, and for the most part, it did. I was genuinely on the edge of my seat during a few scenes...but ultimately, it completely fell apart with a few weak performances, and its "shock twist" added no element of surprise.

In fact, its ending does nothing but make you feel bamboozled as it takes the easy way out of what could have been a decent monster movie.
