Review of The Village (2004) by Hudter90 — 21 Apr 2011
Slightly slow but a brilliant concept for a film. The twists are poor, but the overall idea is innovative and touching. When watching for the first time there are some fine moments of suspense. Every viewing after you ignore the horror element and admire everything else, from the tragedy behind the foundation of the town to the guilt of the elders.
Noah also provides one of the best villains in that you find yourself unable to hate him despite what he does. Incredible soundtrack.
