Review of The Very Thought of You (1998) by Hannah D — 11 Mar 2013
We all know that RomCom is among the most convention-driven genres, being that most of the plots can be tied to one of Jane Austen's novels. This film is a rare exception. Instead of being entirely from the woman's perspective, it lends fairly equal treatment to its four major characters.
Using nonlinear storytelling, it presents a series of farcical meetings and mixups that would not be out of place in a Shakespearean play. I cannot emphasize enough that it is strongly playing on FARCE, so don't take it too seriously, and you'll have a good time.
I think it is one of the best romantic Comedies in existence.
