Intense and dazzling. Mamet's writing intensifies the already astronomical power of the story. Lumet uses dramatic compositions, intense angles, lingering takes, and distance in crafting the suspense of the story.
Newman perfectly embodies the desperacy and overwhelming sense of duty. The supporting cast is sharp, the production design is monumental, and the cinematography captures all of it with Citizen Kane style low-angles and panning.
A flawless movie.
