Review of The Verdict (1982) by Dave A — 02 Aug 2009
This is a film that a lot of courtroom dramas wish it could be. But they all suffer because they lack Paul Newman. One of his best performances grounds this underdog lawyer story about a washed up attorney working a medical malpractice case.
Good supporting turns by Mason and Warden, but Newman is the rock, reminding all why he's one of the great actors. I'll stand this performance alongside "Butch Cassidy" and "Cool Hand Luke" without fail.
