Review of The Verdict (1982) by Kevin D — 02 Nov 2009
Great courtroom drama. Sidney Lumet's quiet direction is fascinating. Newman definitely gives one of his best turns, but it is John Mason's performance as the sly defense attorney that steals the show, for me.
The film also includes one of the most haunting opening shots I've ever seen.
