Review of The Vanishing (1993) by Rem C — 15 Nov 2009
Happily ever after ending ruined it for me, but the husband liked this one better. To each his own, I guess, but it wasn't just the ending--the pacing, the layout of the story, the time spent on the relationship with the new girlfriend, they're all different.
As a movie in it's own right, this one isn't bad, but the original's slow unfolding makes the ending that much more horrifying and for me, left a more lasting impression.
