Review of The Usual Suspects (1995) by David Z — 15 Aug 2012
With brilliant acting and quick dialogue along with beautiful story telling, The Usual Suspects is a damn near perfect example of neo-noir and cinema alone. A great example of the noir influence is with the story sequences that drive you into the twists and suspence of the story that the genre is so well known for. The dialouge, from which I metioned earlier, is simply amazing.
One quote that proves this is âThe greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didnâ(TM)t exist. And like that, poof. Heâ(TM)s gone.â? Itâ(TM)s not only smart but alot of the dialouge really does work into the story and not filler lines, which is always a plus.
To sum it up, with excellent cinematography and along with the great direction of Bryan Singer, this is a must see for noir and film lovers alike. This movie is cool as hell.
