Review of The Usual Suspects (1995) by Gregoire B — 26 Oct 2012
Bryan Singer's strength in this movie dwells in his ability to create a omnipresent sense of confusion. The way he never stops too long on one scene, balancing perfectly close and wide angles, the mystery around each key character : all of this contributes.
But this being said, there still is a part of you that knows deep down the secret of Kayser Sauze, but doesn't want to tell you until it is being revealed. Thus you can focus more on the superficial story, which is actually excellent.
