Review of The Usual Suspects (1995) by Isaac H — 02 Jul 2012
The Usual Suspects is a great film in most aspects, but it's especially remarkable given its dedication to embody the term "the thinking man's film"; sure it's full of twists, but the twists aren't so farfetched that they're unbelievable.
The character motivations mesh with the narrative's mind-bending nature, making it possible, in a wonderful sort of way, for a smart person to guess what's going on before the big reveal. It's immensely satisfying.
