Review of The Usual Suspects (1995) by Trevor R — 06 Apr 2014
The big twist blew my mind. Just blew it right up. The story gains almost nothing from a re-watch because of its very nature, nor does it make a whole lot of sense to begin with, but I certainly treasure that first time seeing it (Blew. My. Mind).
There are great performances galore (Spacey is a thrill, Del Toro is hilarious, and Pete Postlethwaite, one of the great unknown screen icons, is in top form), and Bryan Singer's direction is effective. "The Usual Suspects" is a flash in the pan, but an experience worth having.
