Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006) by Jonson C — 20 Nov 2007
Not really as informative as it promises to be. Most of the film is given over to testimonials on Lennon's politics and ethics with selected news and concert footage in. I liked seeing clips from the Concert for John Sinclair held at U-M's Crisler Arena in Dec '71 but its treatment of Lennon's problems with the Nixon administration is pretty superficially done.
Nonetheless, they sample a lot of great music and moves along well enough.
