I fail to understand how NOBODY, not one person made a concrete effort to contact the runaway husband/father. The guy had NO relatives, friends, business associates who would miss him enough to want to speak to him or see him in person? Kevin Costner is awesome in this movie, but all the other characters are straight out of a soap opera.
