Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Abram S — 07 Sep 2011
One of my favorite films of the "Gangster" genre. Well its actually more of a cop film since the story focuses on Eliot Ness and the Untouchables and not Al Capone. Its thrilling, got a great feel for the setting, with some great and memorable scenes.
Sean Connery is amazing as the character of Jim Malone. Its easy to see why he earned the award for best supporting actor. My only bits of beefs with the movie is some of its historical inaccuracies like the number of members in the Untouchables or the fact that none of them were killed in the line of duty.
Also Kevin Costner(in my opinion) was not the ideal choice for the person to portray Ness and I felt that De Niro's talents were a bit wasted since he wasnt in it much and he is a incredible actor! Nonethless its still something would reccomend to people even for a one time watch.
