Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Cody C — 08 Jan 2012
Great movie. DePalma and Mamet at their most mainstream. Although there are some blatantly DePalma and Mamet moments. And some very cartoonish Spielberg moments too. I don't really like the cartoonish stuff in this.
It's kind of hit or miss. And I hate how many times the Accountant has to beat over the head of the audience that they can get Capone on Tax Evasion. Anyone who knows anything about Capone knows that's how they got him.
But anyway, the suspenseful stuff, the manly stuff, all that shit is really good. Anything bad I could say about this movie is just personal preference nitpick shit. This is an American classic.
