Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Lawrence W — 03 Apr 2012
One of those classic gangster films, De Niro and Sean Connery are the true stars of this movie; how can anyone deny that? The movie is still way overshadowed by other crime epics like "GoodFellas" and "The Godfather," but for certain reasons.
I feel Kevin Costner was a bad choice for the lead role of Elliot Ness. The the film was too surreal; oftentimes very difficult to believe. The characters were also forgettable; to the point where I would literally be surprised at seeing them again.
The movie is very captivating though, very strong storyline, and some good acting by some great actors. DePalma has created another piece of cinematic action with "The Untouchables.".
