Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Matt M — 10 Jan 2014
May not be the most realistic of accounts of the story of how Al Capone was stopped for tax evasion; an exaggerated portrayal by Brian De Palma where the style becomes a little too overwhelming. But one cannot overlook the fact that this may well be one of the most genuinely entertaining crime epics, and that the performances, including Connery's award winning performances as a street wise mature cop, and De Niro's almost comical depiction of Al Capone, contribute to making this film memorable.
